Aranthalawa Memorial Complex

This memorial complex commemorates the LTTE ambushing of a bus in which 34 Buddhist monks, most of them young novices, were travelling, and killing 31 of them along with four civilians, on June 2nd 1987. A special memorial incorporating the bus in which the monks were travelling was unveiled on March 24th 2013, by President Rajapakse.
